Summary: After the entire population of the planet was wiped out in a deadly pandemic, Jeff finds himself the last man on earth, and holds a concert for an imaginary audience.
Highlights: Fringe vet Scot Froelich has written a compelling story about the end of the world, or more specifically, what happens after the end of the world. He plays a character named Jeff who by some fluke was trapped in a shelter for six months when The End happened, and now, 12 years later, he has set up shop in an abandoned theater for a few days to sing and play guitar, which he learned to do with all of his spare time, and tell us, an imaginary audience that looks real (wink, wink), his story. It's a little Pluribus, a little The Last Man on Earth, with Jeff traveling around and finding the best place and the best way to survive alone on the planet. But what's it all for, if there's no one to share this life with? Scot/Jeff sings a half dozen or so story-appropriate songs, from "All by Myself" to "Ground Control to Major Tom" (while in DC, he makes a connection with a couple of astronauts stranded on a space station), in a lovely singer/songwriter kind of way. Scot gives a natural and vulnerable performance as this man who is grieving the loss of his wife and everything he knew, while still holding on to hope that there's something more. It's a beautiful thought experiment about the importance of community and human connection, and the things that really matter "after the end" of the world. Final performance Sunday at 4!
