#TCTheater Artists Respond to the #Ham4All Challenge

If you're a musical theater geek like me, or just someone who's aware of pop culture and particularly social media challenges, you've probably heard of and enjoyed Lin-Manuel Miranda's #Ham4All challenge, in which celebrities and normal people post a video of themselves singing a song from his brilliant creation Hamilton, donating $10 to the Immigrants We Get the Job Done Coalition through prizeo.com/hamilton, and challenging two others to do the same. It's been a ton of fun to watch all the contributions to #Ham4All (just search the hashtag on any of the social medias to see all the wonderful contributions), but of course I wanted to see my favorite #TCTheater artists do it!

On June 29 I tweeted this, with the plan to donate $10 for every #TCTheater #Ham4All:

The Ordway's cast of Jesus Christ Superstar (playing now through July 30) was the first to respond with this awesome version of "My Shot," featuring Julius Collins (a reprise from last year's Broadway Songbook: Rebels! on Broadway), just one day later:

After the 4th of July holiday, on July 7, the Guthrie responded to my and the Ordway's challenge with this gorgeous mash-up of Hamilton and Sunday in the Park, arranged by David Darrow and performed by the wonderful cast of Sunday in the Park with George (playing through August 20):

The Guthrie in turn challenged the Jungle and the Chanhassen, the later of which was the first to respond with their "Ham Jive" on July 18, posted on Facebook but not Twitter (you can see the super fun Grease now through October):

The next day the Jungle released this delightful mash-up of Hamilton's "Helpless" and "Circles in the Sand" from the infectious new musical Fly By Night, closing this weekend:

The Jungle challenged the cast of History Theatre's smash hit Glensheen, now in its third run through the end of the month. On July 23 they responded with this chilling re-imagining Marjorie Congdon Caldwell as the protagonist:

No word yet from the Old Log Theatre's cast of Ghost the Musical (playing through September 23), but I will update this post as more #TCTheater #Ham4All videos are released. If you know of (or have created) any other #TCTheater #Ham4All videos, please share below.

The #Ham4All challenge ends on July 31 and I will be donating $50 (and counting), and I challenge you all to donate as well (click here for more info). Just $10 gets you entered into a raffle for a trip to L.A. to attend opening night of Hamilton.

I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I do. I'm pretty sure kicking this thing off is my greatest accomplishment in life. I love #TCTheater and I love Hamilton!
